I got a little bored today and I ended up rewatching some older E3 trailers and now I'm wondering why are modern games so ugly, I'm not trying to bait anyone into anything I'm genuinely curious companies seem to target realism more and more but somehow they can't even match their own trailers some over a decade old at this point the Assassin's Creed trailers specifically are a pretty good examples of this why doesn't vidya targeting realism look anywhere near this good budgets are higher consumer technology is far more capable than it ever was so what's the hold up? Clearly they already have the technology for realistic cloth and hair and they are able to make much better 3D models lighting animation sfx all of it already exists in these trailers why don't they just implement it in an actual game
Ass Creed was always dogshit
