Got to a point where it wouldn't handle more than 300 watts of its 650 rating but still worked. If a single surge killed your PSU it was either, a really bad PSU, or your power to your house is quite poor quality and is damaging over time just about everything that plugs into the wall.Invest in quality surge protectors they wear out after about 5 years.
