You mean the thing that's been happening consistently ever since this connector got adopted? Yeah, it was the WEG filter's fault.

its insane that they went with the same connector despite the 5090 drawing almost 50% more power than a 4090

I don't know why retards don't just buy a thermal protect cable or a WireView Pro. If you can afford a $4,000 GPU you can afford a $25 cable. You should be undervolting Blackwell regardless anyway. Nvidia is retarded pushing this but at this point its your own fucking fault if you aren't using insurance.

Where do you learn about this stuff?

This doesn't apply to me, get fucked

That's what you get by wasting a good GPU on a ball game.

Google? I usually research my parts before buying a PC build. When I originally was looking to buy a 9070 XT I saw the Sapphire card used 12VHPWR so I looked up to see what the actual issue were. Knowing what I know now lead me to get a 5090 at MSRP which I'm glad I did.

You join nvidia battered housewife communities where you learn to avoid housefires and come to rationalize such things as normal.

>same connector
it's actually the new and improved™ 12V6x6 connector! an iteration on the 12vhpwr connector designed to stop them from melting!

This happened to me but not from DLSS, after a power surge, luckily it was just the power supply that was fried and not anything in the GPU

>I don't know why retards don't just buy [aftermarket shit to plug in their $4,000 GPU]
People don't normally rice out their ferrari.

I had an absolute cheap piece of shit survive something like 25-30 power outs over the span of 2.5 years when I lived in a dusty out of town shithole trailer park. Got to a point where it wouldn't handle more than 300 watts of its 650 rating but still worked.
If a single surge killed your PSU it was either, a really bad PSU, or your power to your house is quite poor quality and is damaging over time just about everything that plugs into the wall.

Invest in quality surge protectors they wear out after about 5 years.
>>
uh oh melty
That's okay you can just have dlss5 rendered remotely at a datacenter and the result streamed to you!
>>
8000 dollars well spent!
>>

This is why I'm never trying it. It's like mining crypto while running an already heavily intensive unoptimized AAA UE5 slop, just a retarded decision.
