>despite inventing actual AI in the meantime, game AI has not improved in 12 yearsHave devs just stopped trying or are players little bitches who can't handle losing anymore?
>>747575735>why dont devs include this 50GB AI model with every game that takes up 90% of your GPU powera real mystery
>>747575735>actual AIWhere?
>inventing actual AI
>there are people on planet earth who swallow jensen's marketing stunts hook line and sinker
>responses are just trying to derail over 'what is AI' instead of answering the actual questionConfirms that the answer is shitters. They don't want enemies to be smarter because they'd never beat the game.
>>747576390I answered the question. devs cant use AI LLMs with games because it needs all of your computers resources to run. fuck off retard
When will we see the first gen of actual games implementing gen-AI has a real feature. I want freeform conversations and dynamic stories.
>>747576503Didn't stop them inventing DLSS5 and gay tracing.
>>747576504the game would need to have permanent access to an online model for AI processing, meaning the responses would be slow and you've have to pay a monthly fee of hundreds of dollars.
>>747576624If NVidia can do AI based gay tracing and DLSS5 in real time, surely Nvidia could ship DLSS-LLM as a standardized LLM designed for real time gameplay use.
>>747576390the premise is wrong from the outset so i don't know why you expect people to engage with it. desu i don't even know why i'm replying considering you just replied to yourself. clearly you don't even need to be making threads since you've already made up your mind
People have long since done studies on this. Players don't want ai that can outplay or outsmart them, they want ai that is fun to beat.
>>747576910It's not wrong. Seriously, when was the last time a game had notably better NPC AI than a decade ago? I can't think of anything at all.
>he doesn't realize "actual AI" is really just the same basic scripting, just like the moronic "ai" for npcs that has been in games for decades...
two more weeks until robojesus is created and makes line go up forever
>>747575735>fell for the "AI" grift>tryhards over video gamesI suspect these go together a lot.
>>747575860For what an NPC behavior AI script does, an LLM model would be like 50MB and run on almost anything2.5GB/s of the cards bandwidth would be enough for it to run a realtime thinking loop, heck any faster and it wouldn't seem realistic.
>>747575735Good AI doesn't sell, same as next level physics and lighting. They contribute to people coming back, and companies profit from the initial sell so they pre bake everything so it looks good in the trailer.
>>747575735The funny thing is that the one thing AI would actually be good for is the one thing it's not actually used for, which is creating AI-driven, dynamic characters, with non-scripted dialogue, needs, relationships and so on. Of course, it should be extended further than that, to create the "living, breathing worlds" that they've been lying about since the 90s.
>despite inventing actual AIImagine saying this unironically.
>>747575735>Anon learns he fell for marketing speakBad day to be you
>>747577091This is why FEAR was so highly praised. The enemy constantly making remarks about what they were doing and what YOU were doing made it feel like you were going up against an intelligent enemy. In reality they were just voicing their simple move commands.
