Movement and core mechanics are sound but the level design and collectathon elements are complete ass. Whoever thought a donkey kong game needed a skill tree needs to be shot.
Destructible environments hurt the overall level design. Worlds toward the end blended together despite stuff like the Feast Layer having a fun theme. Too many filler layers. The racing "layer" was hot dogshit. It controlled like ass and ended in 5 minutes.The boss fights outside of Void and K. Rool actually fucking suck. Worse than any Mario boss, absolutely brain dead.FOMO DLC hurt the game. Should have been free like Luigi's Balloon World.The new Kongs are great, but we'll never see them outside of this. They're doomed like most of the Odyssey cast.

It's just kind of not that engaging once you've gotten like 10 levels deep. I even have the DLC but there is a 1% chance I'll ever touch it.

I appreciate the anons who reminded me that the DK Challenge was ending that night, because I had completed the postgame a few days before and used it as incentive to get the challenge done. No skills in the Final Rehearsal is fucked, but otherwise everything was gucci.

Final Rehearsal isn't that bad outside of thorn hell at the very beginning, but trying to tardwrangle the camera during Muckity Muck while avoiding clipping my toe on a nanometer of slime suuuucked. It's just a big clusterfuck of various multicolored slimes and salt, and I can't even tell where the boss is attacking from half the time because of all the shit on screen.
