More like people don't really care about it anymore.
It was a literal cynical corporate cashgrab shat out because "OMG WE NEED DARK SOULS 2 NOOOOOOW!!!!" meanwhile the original creator wanted nothing with it so they wrangled some random retards for it.
The only reason why it's being praised is because for a bunch of turd worlders this was their first Dark Souls game ever, thanks to the original DS port being dogshit and this one having a more playable PC version.

I got all cheevos recently and I have to say that this is the worst soulshit game in the franchise

Worse than demon souls
Worse than the adventures of cookie & cream
And worse than bl*odborne

Truly a vile game, give me back my 50 hours back
