No, because like the other guy said, the PS2 parts (USB ports) stop working when it's in PS1 mode. The PS1 parts of the PS2 also power the memory card slots as well, so you can't play PS1 games off MX4SIO either.
You can still burn PS1 games without swaptrick though, you just need quality CDs.

PS2 emulation already works, and even a printer can runs PS1 emulators nowadays

Why should I care? I have a working PSX and PS2, but they're basically just decoration now. Hell, I vacuum sealed all my original games.

the jist of it is, they're talking about a chip that's exclusive to arcade boards such as the Konami Pythom or the Namco System 256
this basically allows perfect emulation of those arcade systems without any weird hacks or workarounds since now we just emulate the chip and its corresponding features
