And just like that you guys won't be able to emulate Ravenous kek
>>
Switch 1 emulation being easy is the primary reason Nintendo was quick to abandon anything cross-gen on it.

>Kotaku openly endorsed and instructed people on how to pirate Nintendo games
>acted shocked when Nintendo stopped sending them review copies

That's the fun part, Nintendo was less mad about this and more mad that Kotaku filed a FOIA request about internal attempts at union busting
>>
Why do tendies think anyone who isn't one wants to play what their corporate god shits out?
>>
>>747585682
Kotaku is a adult SJW site, like the opposite of Nintendo's audience who are little googoogagas.
>>
>>747585682
I wouldn't be shocked if Kotaku staff personally ripped, uploaded, leaked, and spread Nintendo games.

Metroid Fusion if it was made by mercurysteam
>>
>>747585110
That's fine, I prefer my metroidvanias with actual exploration
>>
>>747585110
Tendies still seething about that article lol
>>
the love that the mercuryshitter games gets online makes me think humans need to go extinct
>>
>>747586987
the MS games are mediocre but after the absolute shitstains that were fusion and other M they seem like masterpieces to any idiot who hasn't played more than 3 metroidvania franchises.

>Dread broke sales records for Metroid while emulation was at its peak
>Prime 4 lives in ignominy and is one of the worst selling Metroid games after they stamped out Switch emulation
lel
Emulation was nothing but good for the Switch, even Switch emulation on the Steam Deck contributed massively to its success. Do you really think that their awful marketing department wasn't salivating about all that free marketing to pull out of the slump of the Wii U? Where are all those high performing Switch exclusives that came out before Yuzu and Ryujinx? Almost all complete nothingburgers compared Wii U multiplats that could be emulated day one, even Mario played second fiddle to Link just because Odyssey wasn't playable on Cemu.
>>747585373
Them having nothing good is the primary reason why they cracked down on emulation. Once they have good games they will also have emulation.
>>747586143
I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo paid them to do it. If someone's first impulse isn't to buy Nintendo merchandise upon seeing it, then they may as well wave a banner for all the buyfags who will.
>>
>>747585110
AI will crack Switch2 next year if not sooner.
>>
>>747587085
Dread released at an incredibly good time and still barely managed to sell more than an NES/GC title
>>
>>747586987
It's just really novel to have a nintendo game that doesn't treat the player like a braindead toddler and that's why people fell in love with dread
>>
>>747587085
You're full of shit
>>
>>747587234
huh? dread absolutely does that, it is one of the most railroaded metroid games and dying is inconsequential since the game is heavily checkpointed
>>
>>747585110
I missed the last clique. Why /v/ hates MercurySteam again?
>>
>>747587283
Nope.
>>
>>747587339
nope what? The game not being heavily railroaded or there not being frequent checkpoints?
>>
>>747585110
at long as it's locked 60fps on switch 2 I don't give a fuck
>>
>>747587085
This time you'll have to buy the new Zelda to play it, Saar.
>>
>>747587283
Compared to other modern nintendo games it doesn't. You actually have to pay attention to the game and its mechanics
>>
>>747587234
Nintendo's obsession with open world games has unironically made them the least hand-holdy games on consoles. We're at the point where Zelda games say "we ain't explaining shit, figure it out yourself" While Sony's games have mandatory fart sniffing sequences.
>>
>>747587498
they announced a new zelda?
>>
>>747587552
Oot is getting a remake
>>
>>747587601
Oh, you said a new zelda
>>
>>747587532
There's no excessive handholding but it also isn't needed because the games are so dumbed down and simple you couldn't possibly fail
>>
>>747587525
not really, you are encouraged to gas through the EMMI zones due to heavy check pointing for example. Compared to something like zelda that tells you to fuck off and do what you want, the handholding is much stronger in dread
>>
>>747587621
That is a new zelda
>>
>>747587679
sounds like switchsnoy cope
>>
>>747587085
>I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo paid them to do it.
Even if Nintendo wanted to spread copies of their games online for people to fileshare, they'd never rely on leeches such as kotaku to do it. Let alone pay them to do it. Nintendo would just do it themselves.
>>
the only difference between dread and other m is samus' body language
>>

>the only commonality between dread and other is samus' aura farming moments

>Incredibly good time
>Developed during the utter bedlam of Covid and had to repeatedly cut content
Sure you could argue that people were generally starved for entertainment during Covid, but for a game that's just alright in a series that historically hasn't performed very well, it performed above expectations so it probably had zero issues with emulation and piracy.
Nintendo might complain a lot about piracy, but it's not harmful to their sales.
>>747587289
Overhyped Metroid games.
>>747587234
The game locks you into small series of rooms constantly so that you don't get lost trying to find the way forward (though some people still find a way to do that). If you unlock a new ability, then you are usually teleported to the path that just unlocked.
The game has sequence breaks, but they feel tacked on after they completed a linear railroad of a game.

>woke feminist lesbians/soibois at Kotaku HATE Samus
We must protect her at all cost
>>
>>747588031
development is not release time. Dread released in a very uncompetitive year, at a time where Covid vidya spending was still on a high, the games economy wasn't fucked by tarrifs/AI yet and it was co-marketed/released with the switch's most dominant model (OLED). Yet despite all this it hardly moved the needle compared to NEStroid and Prime which had far more going against them, especially prime.
>>
>>747587283
Dying would have been inconsequential if your primary point of dying wasn't a tight QTE at 30fps.
>>
>>747587070

Contrarianism is a mental illness.

Prime Pinball mogs the mercuryspic games

fusion being bad was the majority opinion 20 years ago
