Why was this thing so cult-like?
Every presented had to express how great it was to work for Blizzard, how their lives had led up to this, how they loved their co-workers, etc.
What's going on at Blizzard?
>>
a large company thats completely soulless?!
say it aint so
>>
They've been doing this for years.
They want to be the Disney of videogames, complete with the cult vibe

Blizzard and its fanbase are a cult on the level of Disney adults.
Most Blizzard fans will play ONLY Blizzard games. And if it's a game type or a game with a feature that hasn't been in a Blizzard game before, they'll believe it was invented by Blizzard and praise them for the innovation. Blizzard fans will raise their children to only play Blizzard games. Blizzard fans will cast you out the moment you are critical of Blizzard's decisions.
>>
Brand cultists are the only audience they have left.
>>
They’re trying to claw back their reputation after they bullied that employee into suicide

Nintendo is the Disney of video games already
>>

>"please clap" every 30 seconds
>audience still barely excited
This shit has been hilarious
>>
>2030
>2029
I couldn't stop laughing holy shit

When the starcraft shooter teaser had ended and the screen showed "2030" I was convinced that it would start to tick down; "2030... 2029... 2028... 2027!!!", while the audience would cheer louder and louder.
But then it just ended and it turned out they showed a teaser for a game that might be out in four years. What's the fucking point?

Forced positivity, the consequence of HR taking over the company.

have never watched one of these gamer shows?? they're all the same.
>Why was this thing so cult-like?
just wait until december.
>>
>>747585510
Easier to sell to a cult
>>
>>747585510
Wasnt there a ted talk of game devs that said something like, turn your customers into followers and ur products into obessions or something? That's probably it.
>>
>>747586721
I have but this one just seemed excessive.
>>
>>747585510
because people can't get over Blizzard being moderately good once 20 years ago
>>
I've never played WoW.
What was this WoW: Forever stuff? Is it just a rebranding? Is it new content for WoW?
>>
The way they repeated "I love you" multiple times, was fucking creepy.

it's Blizzard admitting 20 years of game development flopped.
