Steam game mode is a pain in the ass for third party stores, it's essentially counter to the premise of PC gaming freedom. This gets ignored because people don't want to hear that Valve have a streak of Microsoft style selfishness in them - eg use Xbox controllers or fuck off -> use Steam or fuck off.The reality is if you need to use desktop mode, you might as well use a real Linux distro on a real PC
