Is this game actually good or is it just one of those glorified grindan min maxxing looter shooter slop games? It's been ages since I last played this but I recall being turned off by the grind and the "run through the levels at full speed while shitting out damage" gameplay but I know that a ton of shit was added since then so I was wondering how it plays now.

It's fun if you like going fast and killing everything you see. Lots of progression, different activities. You don't have to focus on all of them but you definitely want to do all of them at least once.There's grind some good some bad. You can use the stuff from the grinds you like to buy stuff from the grinds you don't.Just give it a try.

They've added a lot of bloat over the years but the core remains the same.

You grind to fill out a digital collection of random shit but you never really need the vast majority of it to blitz through steel path or whatever. The game isn't deep enough to make experimenting with different builds feel fulfilling because at the end of the day it's all just picking what flavor of gigantic room-wide nuke ability you want.
You'll never have him, so why bother?
