>>747599968NTA but I just dig a hole in the ground and go from there. Building above ground is stupid and a waste, there's plenty of space underground in my mines.

worldgen is the biggest problem in Minecraft. the appeal of the older version was in circumnavigating your map to establish the boundaries of your world then making the most of itin current Minecraft it's just an infinite sponge with no progress
>>747601227Yes. The world gen doesn't generate any kind of landmass structures like continents. It's just a static noise mess.
>>747601752>>747601227Minecraft worldgen is so fucking badI love realistic worldgens because there's less terrain to fix, clean or patch up, it's more suited to building, relatively flatter, and obviously scale is better so you get real terrain features like cliffs, mountains, valleys, etc
>>747601752it's so fucking bad, eugh, look at this
>>747601227Continents need to return
>>747601227>>747601752>>747602376>>747603456Terrain gen is only one of a million things that are still fucked in Minecraft. Development halted for like a decade after Notch left and Microsoft acquired the game. It lives in a zombified limbo with all the unsolved issues, and only gets new inventory-bloating garbage blocks with the updates.
>>7476034561.6 was definitely better but if you zoom out it's just the current worldgen but bigger, the oceans are still big lakes
>>747603456I can see why modern terrain gen is the way to go if you just want to see as many different biomes as possible, in a somewhat convenient way. But it kinda lost the adventure appeal to me of finally discovering new lands after a long sea voyage.
