>>747609309what's the reason for stuff like this vanishing?
>>747609467
>>747609657this counts as well
>>747609467people criticize "world maps" that all have a fire place, a ice place, a desert place etc all on one continent and have stupid ass names like "Tidewater".
>>747610507>>747609467how does snow and desert exist on the same longitude?
>>747610727Are you retarded? Do you know what causes the difference in seasons between the northern and southern hemispheres?
>>747610727it's called elevation
>>747610507and yet that is exactly what they are playing all the time>muh realistic geographyyou mean boring
>>747610507>(((people)))experts say...
>>747611902Well that's on an Earth like world. You don't know how these worlds operate, it they're flat or round or have an axial tilt and move around a sun or if they're stationary and a sun moves around the planet.
>>747612962PEOPLE do criticize, anon, *I* am people and I tell everyone everything is stupid. Very valid criticism btw.
>>747609467The engoodening of video game interfaces. No reason to have a big fancy map when you just pull up the in-game map and fast travel somewhere. Morrowind was the last major game that actually had a useful physical map because it was far more detailed than the in-game one and had things like caves and treasures marked on it so if you were autistically staring at it you could find little Xes that correlated to in-game treasures, and before you explored yourself your in-game map wouldn't even have cities marked so the paper map was useful if you had a quest that said so-and-so is in such-and-such town. Oblivion still shipped with a paper map but the map itself was completely useless and didn't have the fine details for treasure hunting like Morrowind did, and the in-game map was informative enough that you never felt the urge to look at the paper map for regular gameplay anyway. The best of both worlds solution would be to have a less informative in-game map more akin to the Oblivion paper map with very basic information, but the paper/cloth map included could be more intricate and detailed. Modders would mod it in in 10 seconds and then everyone would bitch y dev no do dis but you can lead a husk to soul but you can't make him drink
>>747610727>>747611902>>747615275Jokes on you guys. That's a map of Varn which is literally a gigantic space platform
>>747609309This one came as a physical cloth that you tied to your DS and used as a screen wipe
>>747616775>wipeSon of a bitch, you reminded me of the Neverwinter Nights mapkin. Completely useless god awful nylon cloth map the size of a napkin. Somehow I've still got my spiral bound NWN manual with all my other RPG spiral bound manuals and paper/cloth maps and I still don't remember what the fuck I did with that map
