Those were fun mixed in with other weird shit but I was more interested even when they had god-awful trashfire seasons like that trapped dungeon one than when they just started doing the same shit over and over. To top it off, they gave the previous expansion to people who bought the second expansion, but didn't even give like a 10% discount to people who bought the first expansion. That and their lack of enthusiasm shown in the seasons finally killed it for me so I skipped the second expansion and will almost certainly not buy D5 at this point because why the fuck are you releasing D5 so soon? D4 came out in 2023 and D5 will be 2029. Diablo 3 launched in 2012. 11 years between entries feels more reasonable than 6 when you're also selling expansions between

And instead of bunch of enemies spread out everywhere that you delete in 0.01sec while zooming past it, they’re place intelligently, scarcer, and way way more dangerous and difficult to kill. Tweak the gameplay a bit for adjusting to these new conditions and you have a great top down arpg/adventure game on your ends. The world would take way longer to explore and exploration would be meaningful.

Not sure what went wrong here, d3 didnt have this problem, maybe its simply due to visual clutter and sound/effects not being up to par. The last problem is seasons and general direction of the game. They have no clue what they're doing, 3 years in they keep changing core mechanics like armor/resistance and the way mythics/unique work. This ties into seasons being a nothingburger that feels like they cobbled together in 2 days.
