I'm starting to believe all these games are extremely mediocre and they're just carried on endless praise by autists who have nothing in their lives but one thing they obsessively cling onto. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

I searched them and all I found was cringe for you

your autism clings onto shitting on games

Do you mean LoZ or open world games?

Zelda. Mario has a stronger foundation gameplay wise and Pokemon doesn't have a cult following per se. It's Zelda that's backed by giga autists

nah its just BotW, the rest are amazing

Zelda is carried by presentation. It's fantastic presentation, enough to make the franchise exceptional, but strip that away and the games are mid.

People say there's a zelda cycle where people only appreciate the previous game after a new one comes out, but what it really is, is a downward spiral where the games have only gotten progressively worse

They're simple action games with an emphasis on puzzle solving. The appeal is that they offer a universal heroic fantasy in a colorful, wholesome bow. I personally could never get into them because I found the ones I've tried to have annoying music/sfx and I'd rather play an RPG, but I can totally get their appeal. Mario has better gameplay, but Mario's also silly. No one wants to explore a Mario world or get invested in its politics.

They're games for children. I don't think the series warrants more thought than that. The earlier 2D games at least inspired better games, but the 3D games don't even have that going for them.

I don’t even own a switch, I own a ps5 and series x, and I could tell breath of the wild was an enjoyable game to play even if it lacked some of the feel of the older Zelda games. I played it on Wii U, it was intriguing how you could just go straight to Ganon or just progress how you see fit

yep
