Any game without a dedicated server browser (with community server hosting), mod support and a map editor goes to shit within a few years at most, especially if it has matchmaking.
The endless updates must be supplied by wagies who must please multiple mutually exclusive groups and must resist infiltration by the only kinds of people autistic enough to do their work nearly for free: metafags and rulesfags.
