It admittedly is somewhat quaint, especially after the sci-fi slop and Black Ops/Modern Warfare memberberries fatigue (and the occasionally shitty WW2 game). It was one of the rare times Activision actually tried something somewhat different (admittedly it's just Modern Warfare 2.0 but I'm trying to be generous here). Instead of fighting Ruskies and Middle Eastern terrorists for the millionth time, you're fighting a fascist Latin American empire, which, as absurd of a premise as that is (who cares? it's no less realistic than Russia invading America), you have to admire the originality. And there were some cool, novel ideas and setpieces, like LOKI and ODIN and the No Man's Land

HOWEVER... despite the wasted potential, it's still a piece of garbage. It sucked in 2013 and it sucks now. The wasted potential creates these revisionists who say it "actually wasn't that bad", but no, it still sucks. Horrible writing, horrible voice acting, it's a cheap asset flip of MW3 and reuses tons of assets. Admittedly I would like to see a sequel of it, but that'll never happen

Last COD game on a Nintendo system, the online was extremely tight nit where you'd run into the same people and people made friends or rivals on it.
Also they never patched the riot shield so people got extremely good at shoot at your feet.

first and last time cod mp had good connection, but players complained because the ttk felt too quick even though it's not different than other cods, you just didn't need to dump half a mag when 3-4 shots kill due to lag.

story wise every cod game post bo1 is nonsensical so it didn't bother me that much
some great mission/moments in this. The one when the timer is running out but you're in deep shit undercover and you can visibly see your bros get more and more nervous, going from a fake injury to a slow walk to almost sprint dead silent all while the counter is ticking down and you know that when it reaches 0 everyone lights you up is kino desu

I'm tired of pretending this game was bad, had they gone with the original plan of just having a year two with the 2009 maps as an expansion, people would've eaten this game up and considered it the best in recent memory
