Happy 20th birthday to God Hand.Do you like it? was it influencial for you? What are your favorite memories/moments from it?
>>747633532I didn't know it turned 20 woah. I was planning on replaying with a CRT filter today so the universe must have blessed me
I still remember my "it clicked" moment with this game. Shit was borderline magical.

>>747633532>Do you like it?Yes very much. Gameplay-wise it's one of my all-time favourites games next to Nioh 2 and Monster Hunter Rise >was it influencial for you?The music and humor have left their mark, yeah. The ost has so many weird songs that are actually bangers. Like what the fuck even is this genre and why does it sound this good? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvxD2YHc80k>What are your favorite memories/moments from it?Everything from the beginning of chapter 3 to the end of chapter 5 is literally perfect. Especially ch.3, it's a mountain of fun all throughout.Happy birthday God Hand. I'd replay you if my my laptop wans't so old, even PCSX2 struggles to run.
My enjoyment of the game was improved by enjoying silly Japanese humor.I don't know that I like the devil bosses, they feel tankier than needed. Now sensei, despite the shithead gimmick can be abused and that's why I really like him. and a nice sound track.
>>747634443I retardedly didn't get the point of the front dodge at first and thought it was mostly useless. I was probably 2/3rds through my first playthrough using mostly backflips for everything before I got filtered hard enough to make myself use it. Then I figured out cancelling and I was fucking hooked, finished my first playthrough and immediately started a new one. What a game. I can't believe it's been 20 years, They can't and won't replicate it, but it doesn't even matter, because God Hand is still so good every time I play it. Happy birthday.
>>747633532I beat it once a few years backReplayed it again recently and got filtered at Venice
The Persona 4 of beat em ups. Has the most diehard fans, none of them ever beat it.
>>747633532Even with the remake crazy going on, I don't think they'll let this one through with how "offensive" the humor would be for today.
Is there a difficulty difference between the region sections?I downloaded the NA version and the game seems harder than I remember
>>747638252YOU'RE NOT ALEXANDER
Cool game, I finished it on the ps2 emulator. I think the sure sign of the combat system clicking is when you start forward dodging instead of backflipping, which I have to admit never happened to me.
>>747634732>Nioh 2 and Monster Hunter Risea fellow man of culture
>>747633532It was excellent and made me hungry for more, but playing it so late to the party tempered that since I knew it hadn’t had a sequel for over a decade, now two decades, so mostly just happy to have experienced it.Was having some weird input delay issues on emulator however; would be getting upwards of 200ms lag and couldn’t pin down why. Wasn’t my controller, wasn’t a lack of resources, no obvious settings fixed it. Has anyone here bumped into that? Is that simply how the game is even on original hardware, or is there some way to mitigate it?>>747639946>oops
I played it earlier this year and blasts were had. Got filtered by hard mode tho.
>>747640236Think of it as one of the games where the game logic is tied to the fps. You need to turn off all the shit that changes fps, resolution, etc and run it at native settings
>>747638252Shut the fuck up, lil' Niggy. The adults are talking.
>>747640569Good thinking, but that’s one of the first things I tried. Starting to think PSX/PS2 emulation just hates me since I had similar issues with Ape Escape and Mega Man Legends.
>>747640938nigger you weren't even on the internet before 4chan was around eat a fat sack of cocks
>>747633532I firmly believe it to be one of the best games ever made, top 10 for me at least, maybe even top 5 (I really ought to think about this properly some time). God Hand, along with Ninja Gaiden II, are my gold standards when it comes to action games and just video games in general, when it comes to quality of game design. As for God Hand, I really enjoy the boss characters, both in terms of gameplay, but also visual design, writing, and music, with Elvis' music, Shannon's arena design, and Devil Hand's fights being particular highlights to me.
>>747641631Yeah, boss fights are most memorable to me alongside finding out combat tricks like shoryuken juggle or just pounding the little power ranger guys into the ground
>>747633532I've been playing it for 15 of those years to the point I only do NG hard KMS Yes I like itIt may be the perfect game, its only real flaw is the inconsistent lock on
>>747639378The NA version has some frame data changes (mostly buffs) and changes the way back attacks work (better % chance to hit rather than 100%). It also removes the pan drop roulette.
>>747643887Heh, nice tech. I've never even thought about something like this.
>>747644431It definitely makes that fight much more reasonable
>>747633532Elvis or the trio of retards were the most memorable for me. I was never that good but passable enough I think. My first time through I had no idea those "hidden" juggling moves existed
I love it!
