It's a witcher clone except you're a vampire. And except the only vampiric thing you do is drinking blood from rats and deers and turning into a wolf to move slightly faster because vampiric move is broken and vampiric fighting techniques mean you hit like a wet noodle. I wouldn't even watch a youtube playthrough, just play the witcher 3 which is (surprisingly) a far better experience while still being shit

I pirated the game and had ZERO buyers remorse and ZERO FOMO. Saying that, I dropped it and won't be continuing the game.

First of all, you will only enjoy this if you enjoyed every part of Witcher 3, it is essentially exactly the same gameplay wise. But with worse characters and story.
Just like Witcher 3 though, it's admitedly good story is ruined by the dog shit Open World filled with generic repeated camp clearing quests which are mandatory if you want to play "normally" and get the quest to take out the vamp bosses indivisually.
The time helps with the pacing and makes you skip the worst of the side quest trash, but most of the side quests you have to do are just incredibly unengaging.

Dawnwalker still has absolutely garbage Combat and Itemization/RPG mechanics, just like Witcher 3.

Play it for the story, except the shitty open world will get in the way.
Only play it for anything else if you are a major Witcher 3 shill and defender.
If you didn't care for Witcher 3, then just skip this game. You'll end up dropping it if you pirate it.

The time mechanic is pointless, it really only stops you from doing dumb shit like clear every bandit camp. Would've been better if the whole game was setup like prologue. Smaller areas with short time limits so you actually have to choose what quests you want to do the most.

It's too gritty and gruesome. Witcher 3 wins out because it juxtaposed the dark fantasy with folklore fantasy.
