tbf the gamecube controller IS really nice for playing mario, zelda, sonic and jrpgs. it's just horrible for literally any other kind of game. any game where you mostly just move and push 1 button 80% of the timeplaying emulators on my wii and the gamecube controller came in handy

Genuinely a very comfortable controller to hold. The only genre it's really unsuitable for is traditional 2D fighters, but they were dead at the time anyway.

Unironically good controllerButtons were solid and felt good to press, also sensitive to touch, same with triggers. The only problem was the dpad. It was good for menus but terrible for any actual gameplay
