Then spend the rest of your life worrying about your wealth, fame and safety. By mundane I meant that you can't use magic or you can't slay dragons or you can't explore legendary cities like Alushinyrra, Toussaint or The Citadel (from an IP you posted) etc etcetera. >>747641184To pass the time as pleasantly as possible. Though for some people it is more about setting a goal and reaching it. I'm not really the kind of person that masters games. I've beat most of the hard games people talk about but then lose motivation to try the harder difficulty settings. I've thought about this topic a lot. Taken time to write down pages upon pages of notes about why I personally play video games. I think a lot of the time young folk play simply because they are enjoying spending time with their friends socializing. In my youth we were just really excited about games because they were evolving in front of us weekly. I suppose for my parents generation this what what television must have been like and radio was for their parents. That explains why they were so excited about their lame television shows. If I had kids, they'd probably think the games I'm excited by are as lame as my mother's soap opera shows were. There is something about the human mind that isn't okay with doing nothing entirely. The attention wants to fixate on something external. I've spent seven months doing nothing really but thinking and sitting with a timer. I've worked on breating exercises and meditation. Yet, now I still come back to video games. Otherwise, what would I be doing? Really? I've learned dozens of skills. I could always go back to woodworking or something else. I don't though. I think in the end for me it's that I simply want to pleasantly pass the time until the inevitable happens. Time is running out but I want to spend it here.
