This was by far the best Borderlands game, gameplay wise. Why the hate?

>plan to make it a sort of launch title for the switch 2
>it gets delayed because they're having a tough time with it
>game releases, 80% of people can't play it because its unoptimized, those that can play it think its mediocre and the open world sucks
>embarassingly cancel the switch 2 port entirely
>desperately release big boob vault hunter to try and get sales, already 50% off within a year of release

If you can't play it, you won't buy it.

Reminder that all Borderlands on PC are spywares.

B3 played better and had better looking and feeling guns. But B4's biggest issue is the open-world. It's not fun to traverse, areas feel more generic because they have to kind of mesh with what's around them, and it makes it harder to compartmentalise things like collectibles and side quests. I'd say the second biggest issue is the loot. Most guns just aren't all that fun to use, and it's too easy to find Purples and Legendries. I'm not sure if allowing bosses to be infinitely repeatable for farming their specific drops is conducive to the full game either.

I played the free weekend and its quite incredible how soulless everything feels.

The main 4 vault hunters are incredibly boring looking. The ones from 3 were very underwheling as well but they had some personality. I picked Rafa and his standing characteristic is that hes Mexican. Hes like Diego from Dora who occasionally says a word in Spanish instead of English. Theres nothing to him.

The NPCs you interact with are DEI personified. A mix of very safe, corporate style designs filled with minorities but they dont even make cringe dark humor jokes, theyre just awful, awful quips. The dark humor aspect of the dialogue is completely gone. This feels far more like an overwatch ripoff then Borderlands. Say what you will about 2 but it at least had some character to its cast. Zer0, Salvador, Guaige they all had their own little character quirks. This cast is completely forgettable.

The weapons look very very bland. The entire UI does. Before you had a Dead Space style UI where the interface is in world. You could see the character looking at it. Now its like any old UI.

If you told me this sequel was entirely outsourced to indians id believe you. Its very bland. Before it at least attempted to have some character, even if it was annoying and cringy. This is very safe by comparison. Characters sound like modern day Pixar where everyone is essenssively soft spoken and saccharine. Borderlands is supposed to be edgy and this is anything but.

I enjoyed the base game but I recently checked back to see if there was any DLC and there's already a dozen "bounty packs" that barely seem to add anything
Fuck that, I might get the other vault hunters later, but I'm not paying for individual objectives

True unfortunately. The game is completely sterile.
