Switch game code can run natively on PC now with the Suyu 0.4 release.

>The latest release of Suyu (v0.0.4), an open-source fork of the Yuzu emulator, introduces an experimental Static Recompiler Mode. No longer it relies to traditional real-time CPU emulation. The new feature translates Nintendo Switch game code directly into native x86-x64 PC executable instructions.

>Simply put, it translates the code from Nintendo to PC architecture to run games natively on PC.

>This process is very different from standard emulation. Standard emulators utilize Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation to interpret and translate the Switch’s ARM64 processor architecture on the fly.

>The constant mid-game translation puts too much load on CPU, creating bottlenecks, stutters, and high-power draw on PC hardware.

>Suyu’s static recompiler bypasses this by using Ahead-of-Time (AOT) translation. Nintendo’s binary code is changed into native x86-x64 instructions.

>However, native is limited to translating the game’s code. System services, memory calls, and graphics pipelines (Vulkun/OpenGL) still go through High-Level-Emulation backends.

>While Suyu v0.0.4 marks the archived end of this specific fork’s public releases, its open-source recompilation codebase provides a vital blueprint for future emulator development.

is this like the 360 rexglue stuff? neat
>>
That's cool but why leave it unfinished?
@grok finish suyu 1.0 make no mistakes give all credit to me

Yeah, I think I'll stick with Eden

LMAO

The dude paved the way so others could walk, like the N64, PS1, and X360 recomp tools. Expect some new Switch recomp games in the next few months.
>>

eden is dead though?
you cant even play pokemon games properly on that emulator
the 2 year old ryujinx plays them better
>>
Is it called Suyu because that's what Nintendo is going to do?
>>
>>747669143
Yeah.
>>
>>747668643
Huh? Eden runs perfectly fine. Isn't suyu dead?
>>

Yeah, a young dude made this fork/joke and knew nothing about emulation. But someone took this fork and made this recompilation stuff on it.

I guess that's a nice swan song feature but why?

Okay but does it use SDL3?

Buy a switch
>>
So does this work like right now? Or is this some shit where I have to wait for individual ports?
>>
Is Eden still the only one that allows you to auto-load NAND updates/DLC directly from a folder without having to install them first?
>>
whats the best emulator to play switch FEs with an old amd card avaliable rn?
>>
>>747670365
in theory, should this work, this COULD help people create native executables for games that dont have a pc release (read: all of nintendo's 1st party catalog). but the truth is, even if people manage to start compiling working ports. theres no way in hell they will be optimized for the vast majority of systems.

tldr: this will be a nothingburger and if there is a port of SSBU, its gonna be a mess that will ve playable only on RTX enabled machines.

His own words.

> Ok, but like I said, I sort of want to disappear after this for my own privacy, the source is available and not too different from Eden or Yuzu. I can't stay tech support for too long.

Sorry
>>
If the Github one crashes, he left this one, which also crashes (for me). But someone made a fork.

Fork: https://github.com/dougchansan/suyu-v0.0.4/releases/tag/v0.0.5
>>
Is there any reason to expcet that this won't be integrated into eden sooner or later?
>>

>Yuzu gets sued and dies
>someone forks it and calls it Suyu
Unironically yes
>>
>>747672421
dude just said the source is not different from Eden. if this feature can do what it claims to do, someone will add it.
>>
>>747671723
The dude that made it said:

>I've tested with Smash, Tomodachi Life, Mario Wonder and Pokemon, all fine.

>First person in the world to have native PC builds of those games without leaks, neat.

>It's more efficient from my experience but I haven't really benchmarked it properly

I'm testing TOKT right now, and this shit is way better than Eden. Holy shit.
>>
>>747672615
good if true...

still, static recompilation, even if it is optimized is not different from a fancy emulator. the day where say, we can change settings on a game like an actual pc port without using an external menu, then will be where i will give them real credit.

>but where you can see actual ports like that.
Project Unleashed for starters... thats how an actual PC port from a decompilation should work. an actual professional work. not to offend works like SoH, SM64R, SpaghettiKart or Battleship, but yeah, no work, even at their best has gone to that level.
