Is this game really so revolutionary and important? Were there this many threads about it on /v/ when it was released in 1998?
>>7476707091998 /v/ was shitting on it for the graphics and claiming LTTP was better
>>747670709I don't know /v/ took half an hour to load
We were shitting on toddlers who have never seen a competent adventure game before and this was something new to them, while we were busy playing far better games like Tomb Raider, Half Life, Fallout, Unreal and Baldur's Gate.
I was playing this when the towers went down I was so scared I took the disc out of my n64 and started furiously jerking off before going to my local army recruitment office

A mainstream, simplistic game for kids.Anyone who was truly interested in games was diving into infinitely more complex titles with insane skill ceilings. Zelda: OOT has none of that. It has no difficulty, no strategy, no depth, no art, no narrative, no characters.... it’s literally the sword-fighting game for Super Mario players, and that's it.
