>i keep playing but im still shit
You have to unironically trwat the game like it's your job. Unless you're cool playing in the middle ranks getting good at fightan games means no lifing the fuck out of it.

Getting better at making decisions in neutral is more important than practicing combos. That's the one thing i wish someone had sat me down and told me when i was starting out.
The former is the thing you're actually trying to get good at when playing a fighting game.

i mean i guess yea i enjoy it and i definitely don't wanna be one of the dudes at evo because it just doesnt even sound fun at that point, especially if you wanna play the new shit, i heard most pros just try to get on the most broken shit before anyone realises and then hop off to the next game
>>
>>747673240
i do understand this but i try to kinda pay attention to both because quite often the damage on higher damage characters is locked behind execution so i guess i try to not get caught up only spamming one and neglecting the other

Are you practicing?
Are you at least learning something?
Are you setting goals for yourself, advancing, and accomplishing them?
>>
who do you play

don't pick a game that is 10 years old with 50 players left online who all have 3k hours for your first one
otherwise just learn and get better
>>

>Are you practicing?

>Are you at least learning something?

>Are you setting goals for yourself, advancing, and accomplishing them?

The genre is inaccessible to most people; you need the Gift AKA having the mental speed, reflexes and hand-eye coordination to be able to analyze a situation, choose the most optimal approach and then execute a complex maneuver in 1/60 of a second.

A 1.50m man can train as hard as he can and still he will never be aple to play inthe NBA because he was born withouth the required height; it's the same for fighting games and the Gift.

It's not my thread (I don't even play fighting games but like to criticize them) but yeah, I forgot to not bump it.
Let's hope it dies just like the character action thread its OP necrobumped twice
