Its a new console but a lot of people are just using it as a switch pro and replaying the switch games they already own. It doesnt help that their best selling franchise mario kart was the first time the newest console entry is objectively worse than the previous one. They also havent released a game from a mega selling franchise besides mario kart yet. The wii u was a fantastic console with a good library, but with terrible marketing so the few of us that had one were eating good and inflated the attach rate because it was exclusively owned by "hardcore" fans who buy more games vs the switch 2 which was properly advertised but that means a large chunk of those being casuals who might buy a game every year
