Lady and gentlemen, there comes a point when you run out of vidya. I've played all of the genres and have ran out of vidya. My cup is empty: \_/
I am in a vidya drought and have decided to finally look at anime games since they actually have attractive characters. I'm so sick and tired of looking at Debra Wilson.

Which games does /v/ recommend? Preferably ones I can get on Steam. I will unironically play through every single game you post. I'm gonna start with digimon.

Well, it depends. What kind of games do you normally like? Action games? RPGs? I could recommend a visual novel, and you probably wouldn't be too much into that.
if you're into 2D action games with light exploration, Luna Nights is pretty great!

People always talk about there being so many anime games but other than gachas and the odd SAO game I'm not aware of any good ones that exist.

Because gacha is the ultimate form of anime gaming. They're kusoge with constant content feed, lots of waifus, and perfectly irrelevant gameplay that doesn't get in the way. Perfectly engineered for profit, other types of vidya had to die out.

Megami tensei (personal/smt) is fun. Might as well add metaphor.
Legend of Heroes games (trails/coldsteel,etc) are very fun and very anime.
