The entire remake trilogy will be forgotten after a month when it's finally done, doomed to only be discussed by the obsessive nohopers who cling to this IP due to an unhealthy attachment to the characters. The world will move on, but this dwindling group of autistic balding millennials will still insist the trilogy was a phenomenal success and continue discussing it like the shit movie that came out 20 years ago that nobody but them cares about.
tl;dr: The OG will continue to be a classic, the remake trilogy will be tossed on the garbage pile like all other compilation trash.
