Yep, walk into GameStop and it's a shitty card shop with little to no games, go into a mom and pop shop and the prices are worse than EBay. Sucks.

What's to find? It's 90% funko pops now.

last time i went to one was to pick up kingdom come deliverance and the cashier looked at me like i spoke an alien language when i asked if they had it and tried to sell me a NHL game instead. ended up ordering it online

no, fuck vidya stores im glad they're dead.
>>
Actually yes but *only* for Switch 2 games that aren't GKC. I go first thing in the morning on release day. No pre-order so I can still get a physical till receipt. I fold the receipt and keep it in the case. Still have mine from when I bought Odyssey. When I got Donkey Kong on SW2 I compared the prices from the same store. Interesting to see the change

Most video game stores are just pawn shops in a different coat of paint

I walked in on a whim for the first time in probably years this month. Small location compared to other gamestops in my area. I went into the store on the day opened for the first time like 15 years ago. I've seen what the store used to look like. But this month only ONE wall had even had games, the rest was merchandise. I don't think it is a exaggeration to say if you're still buying new physical games you're unironically better served simply going to your local walmart instead. They had a ok selection of PS4 games. If you're looking for used PS4 games sure.

Target was pretty good for physical for a while, not sure how true that still is.
Gamestop and similar are just funko pop resellers at this point. I have no clue who the fuck is buying that shit in bulk, and I pray I never find out.
