Split screen/couch co-op is more prevalent in more games today than what you'd find back then, the problem is people rarely meet up anymore and if they do, its not gonna be to play video games because online multiplayer is far more convenient. It has become more of a novelty these days as a result. Which weirdly enough, makes me appreciate it even more now than I did back then.
