Why did the series never make a better hub than Majula? Also forgive me for shitting on the game a few days ago. After beating a few zones my opinion has mostly 180'd. Aside from a few grievances.
>>747686684larp larp larpshut the fuck up
>>747686684Best hub music, best hub girl, but not the best hub. That will always be firelink.
>>747686808There's no need to rude.
>>747686684DS2 had no involvement from MizayakiHence why it's goodLike genuinely goodIt plays mostly like an old school dungeon crawl, albeit not grid basedIt was originally envisioned as trying to be online all the time with actual co-op elements done properly, ie you can play most of the game together with the co-=op player only leaving post the great soul bosses and a few others, not after every boss and in addition was meant to respawn at the bonfire you last rested at but the PS3/360 wasn't powerful enough and like DS1 when they envisioned it, didn't realize that most players didn't have great internet to do it outside of Japan
>>747686684I think it is kind of ridiculous how much easier the early game is in SotFS. I mean you can get a +6 weapon almost immediately and not by running around sequence breaking a bunch of shit but literally just by progressing normally because they instantly give you access to the dull ember which unlocks infusions and an infinite supply of large shards. You have to make it all the way to the Iron Keep to get the Dull Ember in the original but here you just have to beat like 1 or 2 bosses and boom, +6 weapon. Plus you get an infinite supply of Boltstones in Heide's Tower, too.
>>747687421You also get no interesting weapons until the final third of the game.
Majula is the closest to feeling like a Resident Evil save room
>>747686684>bear-seek-seek-lesthub world > teleport world > unfinished world3 is still better, but 2 has the best hub.
>>747687421Which is better? The original or SotFS?
https://youtu.be/l-NT_oUESNQsouls dialogue peaked here
>>747688437SotFS but pirate it on PCIF you're playing on console it doesn't matter tbqh
>>747688606I am playing on a bargin bin copy of SotFS I got for my PS4 a decade ago before immediately forgetting about it.I kinda want to get the Steam version so I can share screenshots and play online. But I doubt anyone even still plays it
>>747688860Don't fuckling play from slop games on PCYou can still get your PC bricked if you run into malicious hackersSekiro is fine on PC
>>747688437Despite what I said before, SotFS is still a more complete product. It comes with all the DLC (the best parts of the game) included, has a bunch of changes to item descriptions in an attempt to actually make something halfway cohesive out of the 8-month rush job of stapling together half-finished assets that was the original game, gives you some control over multiplayer matchmaking that the original game completely lacked. It's also the only version anyone actually plays anymore so if you want multiplayer at all it's SotFS or bust.
>>747688860Game still gets over 1k concurrent players daily. I just started a new run on steam this week and have had invasions and co-op popping up regularly. This >>747688956guy is right, though. Cheaters are rampant. You need to use the Blue Acolyte mod for some semblance of anti-cheat protection.
>>747686684Bc casuals hated DS2 so they try to never copy it again
>>747689014Ah, that's good. Well if it means anything I don't even know about the dull ember so no +6 for me.>>747688956>>747689104How is From fine with this?
>>747686684I still prefer DS1 Firelink if only because NPCs actually moved in and out of it. I hated how the only NPCs that come to Majula are the ones that don't actually do anything or have any quests of their own, they are just merchants that stay there forever.
>>747686684This game had awful enemy variety and designs. I remember most enemies being retarded zombies.
>>747689407Because Mizayaki is a cunt who laughed when he found out the bug on base DS2 was PC only and said it;s not going to be fixed since it only affects PCThe bug is that all weapons get double durability damage ahitting enemies and quintuple thedurability damage hitting corposes/wallsPC isn't and never will be something From Slop care about, anon
>>747689531I liked this :)
I love Dark Souls 2. The only problem with it are the bossfights. Which is a big problem but I like the areas and weapons so much
>>747688437SotFS.SotFS has a couple small nitpicks I could make, but none of these are significant compared to everything SotFS does better. I think they fucked up the dragon skeleton in Aldia Keep, by making its activation tied to a somewhat weird interaction, instead of just jumping and surprising people.I think Branch of Yore routing sucks a little bit, it's a little too easy to fuck yourself early game if you open the wrong paths and waste your branches on trash over entire zones. It's not a problem once you DO know, but I really think one more early branch would help a lotMaybe a fistful of minor combat encounters and scenarios I think were worse over the game. That's kinda it though
>>747689407>How is From fine with this?Depends, odds are good people who complain about rampant, game altering cheating probably got sent to the Bad Kid server at some point.Dark Souls 2 doesn't ban you for hacking and cheating, you just get put on the server where other hackers and cheaters go. Save editing is usually fine, but anything else, even a few user side only mods will get you sent to Bad Kid Jail if you play online with them.
>>7476877943 is fucking awful. Terrible level design, combat, world design and lore.
>>747691087NTA, but I find my stance to be mixed. I think DS3 is the fundamentally smoother game. But DS2 leads to more interesting scenarios. Large groups need to be avoided tackling head on. Ranged opponents need to be considered. Having the range of Sorcery the utility of Faith feels like a genuine boon to the point where I have to take different approaches depending on build. Breaking one poison pot on no estus had me scrambling for an item to remove it or keep me alive. In a lot of ways it reminds me of Classicvania where you want to make the most of your subweapon to survive. Compare this to DS3 where you are more or less married to your weapon
>>747686684doesnt have the highs of DS1, but then again, no area is as atrocious as Lost Izalith
>>747690739>>747690739>I think Branch of Yore routing sucks a little bit, it's a little too easy to fuck yourself early gameThere's enough branches for every statue in the game. You can't softlock yourself.
Is pyromancy viable?
