>>747697186Left hand isn't nearly has bad when you first start out, because a lot of the beginner songs basically match up beat-for-beat on all the notes, so basically if you're hitting a note with your right hand, and there's a note with the left, it will usually match up.The hard part is when you actually have to start syncopating your notes. I have no idea how the fuck they do that, even though I can do that on the drums pretty easily.

Every time I tried them I just realized the sheer wall you come across after a point of even semi-serious practice. The dexterity and resilience in the fingers and forearm muscles + tendons needed for either is insane, in different ways. I think drums squeak past piano a bit since they require you to be in decent enough shape if you want to play for any extended period of time, but tendonitis in players of both is common and often almost crippling. Shit, I've had moderately bad tendonitis from several days of typing up papers, emails, etc., so I imagine slamming on ivory keys or drum tops and cymbals if you play the piano or drums regularly can fuck up your hands and forearms even worse if you aren't mindful.Not even close for something like guitar, which I've seen pretty regular and steady, meaningful improvement just from regular play even in the short term for several people. And if you play mostly electric then you have it even easier without needing to develop much calluses, nor press on the strings as hard as you would on an acoustic. Not to say high level guitar playing isn't impressive, though, because again the dexterity is necessary, and if you play live then you need to be in decent shape to because just standing there is boring AF to watch.
