It says a lot that Audio Note's top DAC is 16-bit/44.1 kHz.Vinyl isn't inherently "higher-fidelity" than digital I mean technically, but not really. It's a different high-fidelity format. I think it matters more what format the recording and mastering process was native for. Older music was mastered for Vinyl, newer was mastered for digital. Converting either back and forth isn't always done well or as good as their native format. And much of the digital music is not done as well since it doesn't inherently include sound stage elements, this is not always added in an interesting way or at all.The digital file to match the best Vinyls are massive (32-bit/384 kHz FLAC 16GB per album). It's just not practical, or available (24-bit/192 kHz being far more common). Since even that is not all the information on a vinyl, the translation from vinyl to Flac is inherently a lossy process. But most of the additional information is not realizable. Slightly smoother curves that you only see as you zoom into a wave format. Woofers have orders of magnitude more momentum than this detail and cannot possibly realize these differences, and the additional points of data would take moving faster than sound to produce or are far above the range of human hearing. So I don't think the resolution aspect is as important as some people think. It can potentially even sound bad. I think it's all about what was the native for a song and not forcing unnecessary conversions.The GTAVI Vinyl has old and new songs with a huge range in mastering techniques and native resolutions, but the new songs use redbook sampling on everything but voice so good luck hearing a difference.It's just a collector's item if you like the way it looks

I see it to mean that the really high res stuff like 24 and 32 bit are unnecessary. I've never heard any system better than a Western Electric 555 and that was playing Tidal through a 5th element. And that beat absolutely everything else I've ever heard. They have a track where a singer walks up and whispers and it sounds like it's right in your face. You can tell where the singer is when she's not singing. It's crazy, you close your eyes and it can sound like a crowd is all around you in the live recording. I never really understood why people liked those recordings before, but on really good systems it's like a holodeck for your ears. And none of it even needed vinyl. That whole demo was standard 16 bit. So yeah, to me I just think Vinyl is sometimes better for older songs because otherwise you're relying on unknown quality digital copies of it.
