Is it true that Monster Hunter games require more skills and intelligence to play than Fromsoftware games ?
used to be true back when fromsoft games relied entirely on iframing and mh had positioning requirementsbut not anymore, especially not after world
About the same i reckon, in monster hunter you need to learn your weapon more than anything and in fromsoft you need to learn enemy moves and how to get around their defences
Is Charge Blade the hardest weapon to use well?
>>747946564Its more convuluted than hardOnce you figure out how to enhance the blade and shield, its a very easy weapon to use
There's more planning involved with charms and effects and elements in MH, but Souls requires better reflexes, at least Elden Ring DLC bosses. There's an element of pattern recognition to both, but certain MH bosses, even in Iceborne, are just not doable with the wrong gear as you'll get DPS-checked to death. Souls games mostly don't have that.
World filtered me so hard I don't think I can ever go back to that series, but I've played all Souls games on pc (excepting 2's and ER's DLC) without issue.
the horne is the most difficult weapon to use
>>747946348Not really, once you know how your weapon works, you can breeze 99% of the shitmons in every gamePlus you have 45 mins to get shit done, unlike souls game, you can bring one billion mega pots, small pots and a shitload of healing items
>>747946348Souls is a reflex checkMH is a DPS check
>>747946348No, they're literally the same.
Learning one MH weapon is more involved than the entirety of any fromshit game. DS weapons have like four moves and you only ever use two of them while mashing roll.
>>747946348After MHW, not anymore
>>747946998GS had one move for basically 20 years
Which weapons that you've never touch?
>>747947094IIRC it didn't even have charge attacks in MH1
>>747946998Blud acting like people don't spam the same few moves with MH weaponsHammerfags never leaving that tiny slope
>>747946564Not really no. I main Charge Blade. There's resources and stuff to think about it but just with the basics you can be pretty competent.I might be too arena-brained but I think Hunting Horn is by far the hardest weapon to use well. Not because the weapon is complicated, it's really dead simple, but because keeping monsters in your stupid chain of bubbles is such a pain in the ass. The difference between good runs and bad runs on Hunting Horn is absurd and not always in your control.
>>747947129insect glaive is the only weapon I never tried
>>747947129insect glaiveHammerHunting hornIG/HH far too gimicky and hammer is kinda boring despite being an absolute DPS beast
>>747947094Well now it has like five and that does make it kind of annoyingly complicated.
>>747946348It was true prior to wilds
>>747946348It was true prior to rise
MH is more multiplayer focused
The skill ceiling for monster hunter is pretty high
>>747946348>monster hunter: memorizing weapon(s) and bosses>fromsoft: memorizing weapons and bossesthey're about the same.i'd say, monster hunter requires a lot more commitment in your actions, i don't know if i'd call that skill or intelligence, but it's a lot less intuitive. i'd say... the learning curve is less smooth at the bottom, and it tapers quicker since your choices are much lower.both can be beaten by using a single attack from a single weapon and just learning the boss moveset. monster hunter weapons have much longer animations and recovery frames, the targeting is primitive, the positioning is less forgiving.with the fastest and most mobile attack in monster hunter you commit about as much as a heavy attack with a greatsword in fromsoft.but fromsoft has weapon hardswapping, spells, ashes, you can animation cancel out of most things, etc. the skill cap is definitely higher on fromsoft but it's also more forgiving. something like this chart.
>>747947778>boss is just standing around while everyone dumps their wombo combos at it
Unlikely
>>747946348It's not true, both games are considered difficult because they require an understanding of mechanics, those mechanics are just fairly different despite outwardly seeming similar.
>>747948764You ever seen a boss get staggered in elden ring?
>>747948660Its telling you had all that to say about why MH is harder but elden ring has a higher "skill cap" because ???
>>747949007Golden parry imba, nerf pls
>>747949059Constantly, yes. You then get a big glowing [Attack Here!] spot to do the beeg damage for making it happen.
>>747949064what's your issue here? did i write too much text for you to handle
>>747947778>>747949007one of these looks a lot harder to pull off
>>747946348Yep.Fromslop is movieslop.
>>747946348No but I don't like either and my knowledge of Monhun comes entirely through X Dive.
>>747946348holy sexactually, have those two ever done a collab? MH and FATE, I mean?
I wish they could remove combos. gimme just light and hard attack.
Fromsoft games are pretty bad. AC is good.
>>747949932A few times with MHF
>>747949007MH weapon classes have a learning curve, even if it ends up looking easy. FS weapons dont have a learning curve conventionally, though a parry based ash of war is a rare exception.Even so, such souls weapon types are more knowledge checks for enemy movesets, less so learning how to even do basic shit with that weapon.
It's time to admit the hard truth, fromsoft combat is nothing remarkable
>>747951085The player is given a very simple toolbox that works for solving complicated problems is the way i look at it
The average Fromtard wouldn't be able to get past Low Rank in Freedom Unite
>>747949007what is with this pajeet editing style that people use specifically for souls and monhun games?
>>747946348Nah, both are equal levels of jap slop that take no skill to play. Just mindlessly grind until number gets bigger/enough parts to get better armor.
>>747946348Not since World.
>>747951260Gen2 is piss baby easy in terms of monster movesets in low rank though, its only "hard" due to bloated monster health levels
>>747947094that's all i needed
>>747946348Not anymore
>>747947094And it was perfect
>>747952208God all the soul and difficulty has been ripped from these games i fucking hate World
>>747946348YesWith soulslike you could just grind your level and beat the game easilyYou can't do that in monhun
>>747952208Looks like a blast
>>747947094and it didn't need anything else>>747947138yes. and the most efficient way to play that weapon was mostly to draw slash hit and run, because the roundslash and upswing had weaker MVs and were slowhammer was the stronger option in that game
>>747946348before World yes. capcom is fully intent on dumbing down all their games to appeal to goycattle and wilds is the culmination of this philosophy
>>747950175Sieg and Mordred's outfits are actually perfect for MH lol
>>747946348Pre-World should fit the bill without issue. I've gotten more precise in dodging in MH so I've been able to anticipate more when I started playing Dark Souls this year. Souls has more and more surprises compared to the monster roster in MH, and you have more stamina and resources to work with right out the gate in MH. DS1's endgame will undoubtedly still be a pain in the ass even when I'm all decked out, maybe. And I haven't seen G-Rank in all its glory.
>>747946518So MH requires skillFromsoft is artificial difficulty
