Hard to be enthusiastic about games when you know 90% of new stuff coming out is going to be using UE5 and will either be completely unplayable or require a ton of compromises to run.

I kinda got sick of constantly keeping up with new releases. Not because I don't want to play them, but because I found it too easy to slip into the trend chasing and metagaming mindset. I don't watch streamers and I don't much care for the opinions of narcissistic retards. I'd much rather just play whatever I stumble across and learn and discover things at my own pace. This often means playing a lot of indie games or discovering some AAA game months or years after it released. I find videogames more fun that way even if I do miss out on the Zeitgeist.
