>>748161719Yeah this. Most people should be getting the 9070xt. It’s the clear price/performance sweetspot. I have both a 5080 on my desktop and a 9070xt on my HTPC. 5080 is still “equal or better” in raster, always has better RT in both frame rate and tech, and doesn’t have the inconvenience of having to spend a few minutes installing optiscaler on each game to get good upscaling on older titles. But that isn’t worth spending $500+ more. It’s not a Path Tracing card and it’s not a DLSS5 card, so the gaming advantages over the 9070 XT are quite small and never transformative. Save some cash and offset you ram/ssd costs.

Older games that don't use TAA do look great with MSAA, however you don't need DLSS for them since they run at infinity fps. DLSS did look a lot worse in motion and head smearing in motion in older DLSS versions, but that got fixed after dlss 4.0 and now even looks better with 4.5.

Zero reason to get a 5080. Either get the actual 5090 its supposed to be, or a 5070 Ti for a 16GB VRAM option. 5080 is overpriced and in the middle of the two, with way too little VRAM. Hell, you'd be better off just getting a AMD 9070XT vs a 5070Ti much of the time.
