7 out of every 10 zoomer “gamers” don’t even know what RTS stands for
>>748256554Kohan and Ahriman's Gify is something I like. The whole regiment mechanic is fun and that instead of simply researching tech, you have to pillage it all from whatever monster lair said tech is located in.Shame Kohan II lost it.Sure, the graphics are nice, but you can't build cities anywhere anymore except for specific locations and the game feels more like WarCraft III. Including researching stuff. Also shame they didn't take the Slaanri and made them into a playable race like they did with the Drauga, Haroun and Gauri. Now with a new owner, I'm hoping that one day Kohan III will be a thing in the future...
The supreme RTS coming through!>That macro: streaming eco, reclaim, adjacency, and the constant risk of where you invest your resources.>That micro: dodge micro, circle strafing, air drifting, formations, and positioning.>That scale: massive armies, powerful units and buildings, tactical missiles, artillery, nukes, and experimentals.>That freedom: Air, land, and navy coming together across multiple fronts ensures the best strategy wins, with every part of the map offering another strategic problem to solve.Nothing comes close.
>>748256914Remember to scout.I love how SupCom UEF is basically "'Murica!" Here's the T3 spy plane, reminiscent of the SR-71 Blackbird. Their bombers have various iterations of napalm and a small yield nuclear bomb.
>>748256554what is a good RTS game for a non RTS player?
>>748259563Do you want sci-fi, medieval, or futuristic?
Warcraft 3 my beloved
>>748260072I like the medieval history and fantasy.
>>748259563StarCraft 2 because the arcade takes advantage of a frankly goated foundation
>>748260587Age of Empires 2.
Been playing this flop recently. It's pretty fun, feels a bit like Company of Heroes with knights and shit. Though I don't think it's something I'll keep playing after I finished the campaign.A sequel could have probably ironed out the kinks.
I have 10,000 hours in company of heroes 2 i am a fucking loser
>>748259563no such thing
wtf this is crazyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vsTqNwHquE
Tried Populous after the last thread. Did not care for it one bit.
>>748261738I dont think you're a loserI used to wind down by having my nightly "I play the KV-2 commander" roundIt was always ruined by people who>Have several thousands of hours in the game but also feel the need to backseat game your playstyle and didn't know how to deal with enemies who bypassed their barbed wire walls
I love Warlords Battlecry series.I like the music of 1, like the look 2, and 3 have a bunch of stuff.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDWZAI7vfgg&list=PL9CBA1A4926715557&index=3don't know if it is good or bad, I just was a fan of the RPG elements, even if that ment the online being broken as hell.
>>748262079More like Ar-toke-this.What do you think this means for the future of the ladder?
>>748256554I love BAR but I want to play something like it but medieval or with humans and there's nothing like it and probably never will and if it does it will certainly suck and wouldn't have the cool stuff or the controls that it deserves
>>748266115What do you mean?
>>748256554maybe
>>748256554I know many liked DoW1, but DoW2 was my favorite.I'm glad Elite mod keeps the pvp alive.
>>748259563Like if you want something to learn with? The casual option would be Warcraft 3, pretty forgiving while not being a total pushover either. Also now has a Story difficulty if you really need help. Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 1 and it's expacs are also very easy and good for learning with.Total Annihilation, Submarine Titans, Metal Fatigue, and Battlezone 2 are also good jumping in points.
