How come video games don't scare me in the slightest, but any mediocre horror movie makes me not be able to sleep comfortably for 2 straight nights? Anything that is slightly supernatural like a girl with long hair makes me shit my pants, but no video game has ever scared me. Are games just inferior in this regard?

Camera control too, for the most part. Next time you watch a Horror movie, keep the remote (or I guess mouse if you're streaming on PC) in your hand and see if the same thing happens. Alternatively, are you also scared shitless by animated horror? It might be your mind can easily or naturally disbelieve any horror that is computer generated or animated as false, but your mind reacts to live action horror as if it's real. Like a visceral, instinctive reaction.
