Will it be the Engoodening of DD2?
>>
Yes.
Thanks for beta testing DD2 players.
>>
>>748268865
No problem you're welcome please enjoy and consider buying DD3 (never say never ever) etc.
>>
DD2 was already good if you liked base DD1. DD1 is just better. The only people who think DD2 are bad are tourists and shitposters.
/thread
>>
what changed?
>>
>>748268820
The game was already good so I see it more as a cherry on top of an already great game.
>>
>>748268820
it doesn't need engoodening it was always a blast
>>
>>748269204
true but that doesn't mean it wasn't also disappointing
>>
>>748269793
That's just a matter of opinion. I don't fault you for thinking it's disappointing considering I was here to see the big vocation meme images people were passing around before launch with hybrids of every color.
I never got sucked to that hype level and, personally, I loved how different but still true to DD 2 was at launch. While I did love the Everfall and Ur-Dragon, story and "I'm gonna remember this forever" wise, the unmoored world and entire ending sequence was pure unadulterated kino just like 1's.

I think for every one thing DD2 does "wrong" or is a weird regression from the first, it does one more thing that's new or improves on the original's and people never really acknowledge that and pretend like 1 is better in every way. If you truly like them for what they are as an overall package, I image DD:DA is one of your favorite games ever and DD2 is probably just outside of that range.
>>
havent you heard? per youtuber opinion, DD2 is a subversive masterpiece about the shackles of creativity and corporate overlords
god i fucking hate that video so much
>>
UH, post pawns
>>
>>748270902
My pawn is too strong for you, Arisen.
>>
>>748268820
not unless I can romance the Sphinx.
>>
Anyone else have unable to connect to servers issue? Happened for maybe an hour but went away. Haven't modded my pawn but do they still shadow ban people?
>>
>>748269793
claiming its disappointing is almost universally unaccompanied, which looks like you are just shitting on the game
in actuality, it IS genuinely a better game than dragons dogma 1, but nostalgia has given a huge lead to dd1, and the expectation that dd2 is going to be even way better than the imagined version of dragons dogma people played a decade ago (the PC port turned 10 years old this year) made people enjoy it less

reminder that the people posting about dd2 were expecting things like
>dark arisen style dungeon at launch
>something like 36 vocations
>entire monster roster returning + doubled
>pawn romance
etc., just pure fantasy. i am still disappointed by the lack of new vocations in dd2 (trickster sucks balls), but the vast majority of changes that people spent months complaining about after the game launched (160cm height floor, underarmor gone, 4 skills instead of 6) didnt really effect most of the game's "good" parts
>wilderness exploration is insanely better
>much better environments, way more alcoves and cliffs to investigate for treasures
>camp system generally makes exploration feel more meaningful
>combat is significantly better (it still was even before the update to 6 skills)
>monsters had pretty significant weaknesses to exploit
>skills have way more intention behind them outside of "swing a weapon and do damage"
>pawns all have way more variety to them, inclination matter way more now and you can have pawns that auto craft items, balance weight loads, use curatives on party members, and other gimmick stuff like speak elvish

You are fucking retarded. The game did not have any semblance of a reason for review bombing and 99% of the people who bought the game were hyped. And yet this is the user score.

It's a fucking shit game, completely unfinished and royally uninspired. It doesn't even have good music.

game sucks, but with Grace at my side, I'm blasting off again!!!
>>
>>748273019
>no reason for review bombing
it launched with horrible optimization?
why are you just blatantly and verifiably lying

also, i already mentioned the kind of totally unrealistic hype for insane shit like getting over 30 classes.
people expected the game to be a generation defining masterpiece, which its far from, but that doesnt mean its worthless
it is unfinished, i agree. i also think its relatively uninspired considering how much it lifts 1:1 from dd1. i dont think either of those stop it from being a good game, or from being fun to play.
6.5/10 is way too harsh on the game, considering way worse shit bottoms out at like 8.5 or higher
how many extremely middling indie games get droves and droves of IDF tier shills with full marketing campaign level phrases and copes. E33 was the most astroturfed game of this decade but it got higher ratings despite being a way worse/less interesting game

to his defense, real vs. fake, false vs. true, has been a central theme of the games.
However, the Tsujimoto narrative is overblown.

Kento Kinoshita helmed every major Monster Hunter game from 2004 to 2013, and literally only stopped to work on Dark Arisen 1. Ryozo Tsujimoto didn't really become the Monster Hunter guy until 2013 despite working alongside Kinoshita since 2004. It's clear that Kinoshita working on Dragon's Dogma was very significant to the trajectory of the Monster Hunter series, seeing as he respected Itsuno very much, and vice versa. Itsuno leaving was more or less a passing of the torch moment, Tsujimoto became head of Capcom, and Kinoshita is the Dragon's Dogma lead.

Niggas legit lied and slandered the game on twitter/youtube by calling it a predatory MTX fest for clicks, clout and engagement thoughbeit, this literally and factually happened. Normalfags who don't even play nor buy these games obviously joined in on the bandwagon hate. Some of that slander is literally in some journo reviews. See the Jimquisition tranny one.
>>
>>748268820
If you didn't like the base game you probably wont like the DLC. It seems made for the people who wanted more rather than less.
>>
only 20% of players have visited the unmoored world, yet the game's hate campaign is overwhelmingly by people who never played it. How long until "talking about a game you never played" becomes a serious discourse?

literal nothingburger review with buzzwords that mean nothing and just slanders the game for engagement to be fair that's generally this british tranny's shtick
Zero actual flaws named and analyzed, performance issues not even mentioned. And that's basically how this game publicly died in 72 hours.

my biggest main complaint about dd2 that encompasses all my other complaints is that the big huge map doesn't mean shit if the enemy, item, and skill variety didn't also expand proportionally in the same way the map expanded relative to the size of the first game
there should be like 20 base skills before upgrades for each vocation, there should be at least 50 armor sets for each 3 vocation splits (mage/sorc/trickster, thief/archer/ma, fighter/warrior/spearhand) there should be MINIMUM double the monster variety of dd1 + bbi, etc
it sounds entitled but the main draws of the game being the combat and the pawn system are both let down when there's not a good variety of enemies to run into or armors/skills to make your pawn actually stand out
like a big map needs things that are actually fun and cool to go out and find, stuff that gives the same vibe of finding selene in the witchwood, or reaching the blue moon tower for the griffon quest
>>
>>748274835
People only complain about skills because they dismiss any class they don't want to play (which is all of them). They blame the game instead of saying it's not for them. They don't know that there's like ~850 pieces of armor in the game and that 75% of that is NPC only. They don't care about Bartizan or Saggitate or Palladium or any of the cool DD2 stuff. it's so disingenuous.
