Too many people complain about the blacks instead of the game just being another step in Arkanes declining quality since Dishonored 2/Prey.Like there are some baffling design decisions, most notably being the invasion mechanic because by virtue of it being another person that means any and all time manipulation power, in a time travel game mind you, are a no go because how do you mess with time while another person is present without making it totally unplayable?Or how the game is broken up into discrete chunks of the day that never interact outside of big preset events so there is no emergent behavior the comes out of manipulating the loop.Not gonna comment on the aesthetic because I don't really care for or against that 60's deco look, it's a good showing of it I guess but meh.That said it's a bad arkane game which still means it's head and shoulders above most slop, it's not just hitting the same heights as their previous game did so it stings extra hard that Deathloop is honestly just kinda okay. I’m not joining your circlejerk sorry. The game was fun. Best 1v1 cat and mouse gameplay out there and the dishonored+guns gameplay with the powers was great. Interesting story and lore too, especially with the Death of the Outsider kept in mind.
