Rockstar goes as far as simulating an NPC's nervous system, so they actively try to protect themselves and maintain their balance while falling something that's nonexistent outside of rockstar games

Meanwhile, you can buy destruction plugins like Red Faction's on the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

Okay that's great, but how does that add depth to the gameplay because all that Rockstar is doing is adding an animation system on top of their physics engine in order to add certain realistic reactions to certain physical situations, which isn't really impressive from a gameplay standpoint. It's not adding any actual depth to the gameplay as much as you like to cope about it.

The fact is that R*'s engine can do more cinematic shit but doesn't have the technical depth of a game from 2009. I don't really care or understand how anything you just said will lead to the game being better or change how I do things in RDR2, especially when the world is so static actual dynamite doesn't even leave a mark on the ground. They had to hire literal structural engineers to get the actual stress and other mechanical calculations correct for RFG. Even Dragon's dogma in 2012 did something similar with a lot of the enemies and tying an mo-cap animation system to the physics engine. You see it a lot with enemies that try to shake you off as you are climbing them. It's not that difficult to do all things considered and isn't as complicated as trying to imply.

I don't care about GTA that much. It's a very mid series of games riding off of low info consumers being impressed by bog-standard tech tricks nowadays. Even GTA clones like Saint's Row outdid GTA when it was in its prime. It's basically like Air Jordans or anything with mass appeal in that it only sells because it's a brand. GTA and RDR2 are in the same league as CoD or FIFA: shit people buy just so they don't get FOMO,not necessarily because they're good.

There's no mission like Insurance Fraud in any GTA because Cockstar doesn't believe in making missions fun or dynamic.
