Only to discover that for some reason she did no damage to the enemy despite the combat forecast showing she would one round the guy. I rewound and tried again because I didn't get what was going on, turned on animations and apparently there's this Offset Curse skill that activated when the guy got attacked both times. No one on the map has this skill equipped, and the enemy is not standing in any terrain. It's a chance based skill as well it seems since Cai was able to hit the guy with a levin sword and after that Esmeralda was able to deal damage to him. So cursed weapons while strong can result in a unit getting completely fucked over by chance. I'm not sure if it's ever mentioned somewhere else that underworld enemies have this.Also there are finally enemies with crit, but it is a lot lower than what would be expected. An enemy The Blade has 10 natural crit despite its dex and luck saying it should have 40 crit before taking into account skills. Shadow Seekers have 1 crit, and some winged beasts have around 14 crit.

They could have at least cut a lot of the fluff out if you decided to do literally any of the other characters routes first.I still think his intro is much better and clearly where a ton of the dev budget and testing went. Leda’s story feels so cheap in comparison once you finish her intro but at least her ending was good.

I'm like halfway through Theodora's route and holy fuck does her default party members suck ass. The ostrich guy has barely any str and the red haired girl has the exact same problem. Bonaparte and the axe guy are okay at best, but holy fuck I'm so eagerly waiting to finally getting the support level 3s for a few units that I want to build so I can bench these fuckers. On Leda's route my team was pulling their weight, but these two fucks don't do anything in combat. When you hit enemy archers for 4 damage without any skills, you know it's bad

She’s definitely got a ton of practical utility, and I would be surprised if Cai or any of the other lords in this game manage to outpace her in terms of utility as a lord.The one thing I can definitely say about Leda’s route is that even if I feel like it was weak narratively compared to what I was hoping for, she definitely was fun to play as. I had her level up mostly in magic classes until I unlocked Dancer, and a Levin Sword + Avoid stacking build with a Troubadour Olympia spamming Emergis can basically duo a lot of the paralogues, and the last few maps really easily, probably even if they’re were unleveled. She’s a great unit and lord, I just feel like her narrative had a lot of promise that was not really executed all that well? For instance, I know this is a game targeted at like… a young adult teen audience but do you really think teens aren’t going to think it’s strange/stupid that Leda’s group could not tell Maria/Martila were the same person most of the route? Why did we need Sirocco constantly spelling out to the audience "huh I smell ambergris again, how mysterious" for like 4+ times during the story? Why does Leda’s route only have such a minimal amount of cutscenes compared to Cai’s or Theodora’s? It just feels like Intsys really liked the idea of Leda’s character (and I can understand why, she’s interesting as a lord unit, it’s why I played her route first) but worked on it too late in development to really play through her route enough to see if her narrative really felt like it was fully fleshed out and not just filler until she finally confronted Bertrand.
