The edit gets it a lot closer to the original song in some spots, but of course the editor gave up because eventually any editor is going to hit a point on that track where they realize "If I put another full hour of my time into fixing this, it's still going to be utterly terrible". This is a year where we don't have editors to spare. Any singer is welcome, but you gotta at least attempt to sing the song. This isn't even funny bad, it's just not singing the song so it'll never sound like the song. The only way to even approach making it listenable would be to custom make a new instrumental specifically to fit this take, but it would sound nothing like the original song and be an utter waste of talent from the editor. If you really want to gut the song, I would suggest you personally give it the Editor's Special so we can at least look at it and go "huh, so this is the new Diversity".

I'd put Homo Negro Vidya slop in this category too.For emotional songs, both 2 Link's Awakening songs last year had strong lyrics that went way past "here's namedropping a game, here's a dry plot summary of that game", and they rewrote the songs entirely while basing them on loose connections like "bird song into bird song" that still required complete lyric overhauls everywhere.For a darker tone, the Saya song twisted the original, and it's my favorite example of intelligently leaving parts of the original unchanged with purpose. The unchanged parts highlight the way the entire song is about a flipped reality, and every part unchanged in text is still warped in meaning within the song. It added chorus variants, so it still wrote more lyrics than the original song has. Both songs are about a stressed out man lamenting his "wrong" relationship with a woman, but where the original is metaphorical, the parody found a topic where those same metaphors are now literal.
