Where's all the whimsy of the Harry Potter world? Where's all the magical nonsense? The most fun thing is going to hogsmeade and discovering a house with two doors, and you get a different interior in what would be otherwise overlapping space depending on what door you go through. An effect you can only experience in a video game or via movie magic.The whole castle is mostly beige and gray. And it's tonally inconsistent. For the most part you can't really "kill", anyone, because you're a 15 year old student, but you're telling me putting someone into a full body bind and letting them fall off a cliff doesn't kill them? Turning a guy into an explosive barrel and hurling it at his friends doesn't kill him? Freezing someone and shattering him into a thousand.. you get the idea. And HP comes with the perfect solution for "okay the 15 year old shouldn't be killing a thousand humanoid enemies" just have them take a knee, yell "I'll get you for this!" and have them teleport away. But no, even without the killing curse, you are just seemingly killing people left right and center. And of course the killing curse (and other unforgivables) are treated in the HP world as one of the most forbidden things. But once you learn them, because it's vidya, it's just literally the best way to do combat, and speaking of combat: having cooldown on a spell is retarded. I know it's for game balance, but just don't give me an instant kill spell, if you obviously can't balance a game around having an instant kill spell with no cooldown.It's also stupid that you NEED loadout slots to effectively fight, and loadout slots are locked behind skill points. Lock them behind some other progression like total level.

I dislike how the game went for the realistic aesthetic despite the fact it had already stepped away from taking place during the contents of the movie. I feel like Harry Potter would benefit from a much more stylized aesthetic. Students and Teachers with distinct body sizes, hair colors, styles, accents. It was also too Brown, but dull brown. Foreign exchange students should be a thing but they should feel really exotic and distinct from their class mates. Aesthetically the african chick was fine they just made her irritating by saying she uses super special wandless magic. I feel like a game with that sort of style to it set in a more antiquated period with a very small class size for each of the years would be good. The movie and some chatter by Rowling has something like 1000 students in total but that seems crowded.

So you have this revolution, that is technically righteous but needs to be framed as: "Yes, they want freedom and equality, but like.. they shouldn't be violent about it, violence is bad and not the way to free your people", in the same game where you sling killing courses with no consequences.There's also small shit like: "As a student you get in trouble if you get caught roaming the castle at night when you should be in bed". But only during a specific mission, during the open world parts nobody cares. The best thing about the game is integrated mod support, that allows for mods even on consoles.So you can fix shit like wearing a suit of armor or other silly shit in class by downloading a mod that switches you to school uniform on school grounds, and to whatever else when you're outside school. More games should have an option for integrated mod support.
