The biggest issue with Sekiro's combat is how most prosthetic tools and combat arts just don't go well with the combat's basic fundamentals. The game is at it's best when you're constantly clashing and deflecting in quick succesion while needing to keep track of sweep and trust attacks. It's simple but the fast pace and flow make the combat really satisfying. Meanwhile most of the good prosthetic tools and combat arts are slow af high commitment attacks that shit out damage (lazulite axe, mortal draw flame went), shit that breaks the flow of combat (firecrackers) or shit that allows you to continuously stunlock the exemy (sabimaru). All of this shit allows you to practicaly sidestep the combat loop of the game instead of complementing it.>But but they make the game easierWhen are you people going to understand that half of the point of having different options is to encourage various playstyles that each have threir own pros and cons that you strategize around. If they had some better enemy design in the latter half it might not be as bad but honestly the core is so shallow that I think they pushed it as far as they possibly could which is why they haven't made a sequel, there's no where else to take this system.
