All I really wanted was next gen visuals but instead of ray tracing, have path tracing instead. It should have kept the identical lighting and shading from next gen ray tracing only benefited from path tracing's more complete rendering pass eg reflections don't look like shit anymore, all dynamic lights (torches, candles etc) cast flawless shadows on all objects, and indoor lighting has proper light bounce from sunlight instead of flat grey/blue ambient light from nothing. That's it. That's all it needed. Instead they went and ruined it. The atmosphere is gone. Contrast gone. Color depth gone. Characters look like they're made of plastic. It's dead Jim.

I'm genuinely shocked at how awful an implementation this truly is. I thought there's no way it's a flop after how solid CP2077 was with path tracing. Nope. Runs like absolute dog shit, and looks not just bad but straight up broken. Especially vegetation. Bushes glow in the dark in areas that should be shadowed, tons of light leaking inside buildings, and even the shadows look totally wrong as if it's overlaying the basic raster shadow maps on top of them. All that and my 5090 can't even lock 60 fps with 4k DLSS Quality which I do easily in CP2077. Fuck this shit.
Still remember how butchered next-gen was on release. Can't believe they did it again. It's free, whatever, but it's incompetence on display. CDPR haven't released a single thing in over ten years that wasn't broken on release. Then all we get is a CGI trailer and preview of TW4 they admit isn't even the real game. So now this is the base platform we've got for the next TW3 DLC that shouldn't even exist honestly. Move the fuck on.
