Minecraft has been unobfuscated and easily decompiled for a while now, and when you know exactly how the code works, it's not so hard porting it into other games as long as those games already have modding frameworks and such. Other decompiled games have gotten this fusion treatment in the past.

The most that AI approaches creating ""new"" code is when it does recompilation to get a non-decompiled game's code. It's complicated, but basically it amounts to being able to run an automated google translation of compiled code to something that can be loaded and ran elsewhere, although even then it still relies on human knowledge to find out what symbols relate to what functions in the first place.
