The problem with Linux is that it's still missing very basic functions.
That being said normies have 0 reason not to adopt Linux en masse.

Another major issue with linux I've discovered recently:

There is no way of creating a live bootable USB of Linux Mint OS on ANY distro of Linux that works for Legacy BIOS/MBR motherboards.

Read that again, and realize how absolutely ridiculous it is.

Linux Mint is software that prides itself on running on old hardware. But there is no way to install it on said old hardware (not even that old, late-2000s) without burning it on a bootable DVD WITHOUT using windows.

Seriously try it. All of the USB burning software on linux from the native linux mint one, to BalenaEtcher, to Ventoy, to all the rest, can only format the live bootable USB with GUID Partition Table that legacy BIOS mobos can't read. And this is for an enthusiast tier mobo released in 2009.
Also AI is retarded and will gaslight you then apologize and even explain why it doesn't work when it doesn't work.

In the end only Rufus on Windows worked to create a Linux Mint live bootable USB for which to install Linux Mint.
You'd think this was an issue that would have been solved ages ago, but nope.
