Now that Valve is just wasting our time and Deadlock keeps getting worse, do we wait for the inevitable Team Fortress 2 decompilation and revival?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyBL8atiZSE>We'll never have to play a shit 2026 game again. With less than 10 NEETS, we can have a revival of any old multiplayer game you can think of, you don't have give a shit about the new terrible multiplayer games that gave us such hits such as Marathon and Concord and Highguard.10 NEETS using AI to revive Team Fortress 2 (Steam-less Version) can compete with the 10 lazy Valve devs that are taking years to update Deadlock with the most dogshit updates imaginable.
wow, yet another "AI" decompilation"threadI'm sure this will result in productive and intellectually stimulating discourse.
>>748725986My stimulating reply to (You) is that I see id software and Valve as the two big companies that gave the concept of PC Gaming a purpose in the first place, but as they stopped making games the PC Gamer would care about since 2010, the PC Gaming space has been turning into a backlog space and it's purpose has been the emulators and the original decompilation projects that didn't use AI at all, but took years. Now that AI accelerated decompilation to an insane degree, the PC Gaming space will be all about revisiting the backlog, wasn't the Steam Deck exclusively a portable emulation machine. Now, a big goal to actually confirm that this is the main purpose of PC Gaming, would be to see a decompilation that revives an abandoned multiplayer game, if there's a decompilation and revival of Team Fortress 2 that exceeds 50k players, then it's confirmed that PC Gaming has this new purpose.PC has always been the tinkering and modding platform, this would just be a new peak for this main fact.
Bring back the classics.
>>748725859TF2 source code leaked in 2020 retard why would you need a decompilation? Not even mentioning the countless sourcemods that got made and are officially on steam now.
>>748729839The same game on a new engine and way easier to vibecode mods or quality of life updates. The sourcemods of TF2 failed because they are still stuck on the source engine, which everyone finds clunky, and under the old paradigm it will take someone forever to maintain, and the only people who are willing to waste years on this are usually also power hungry and they will themselves kill their own sourcemods because of Jannies Remorse, which has happened 2-3 times to any attempts at a Team Fortress 2 revival. It's up to vibecoding NEETs to solve this niche and save PC Gaming now.
>>748731086>The sourcemods of TF2 failed because they are still stuck on the source engineThis is the only reason people still care about the game nowadays, just look at what happened when Valve ditched source engine from CSGO in favor of CS2.
I don't see how this is related to mario?

The Team Fortress 2 codebase is sort of open source iirc so you wouldn't even have to do a decompilation. You could do a rewrite to that Rust + Bevy engine or if you had access to Source 2 port it over to the new engine with AI.You can do anything now.
