FF7 Rebirth is the best game of this generation, it's kind of sad that it wont get recognition due to it's place in the series. Rebirth established a formula different to Remake but I don't think it'll be the same with the next game. Revelation will be Rebirth 2.0 and will dominate future discussion.Rebirth discussion will be limited to it's story and brushed aside which is a shame because the gameplay is great, an absolutely stacked game with the best ever action combat system, variety content, music, etc.Try to imagine playing the 7r games fresh without confirmation bias.

I made the mistake of completing all of the side content at launch and it was a miserable experience. I recently did a ng+ replay on dynamic mode doing only the main mission and aside from the opening slog and shinra manor it was fun. If they had bothered to place all the gear upgrades in the giant open world instead of locking them behind checklist chores and battle sims it would have been so much better.
I'm considering getting a lobotomy so I can actually enjoy these remakes
