I haven't really played since dw4 (played under 20 hours of 8 xtreme legends but wasn't really feeling it), but I fucking love the dash. One of my biggest annoyances was how every time you finish a combo you're just standing like a retard ready to get hit, but the evade adds so much to mobility as well as acting as a combo reset that allows you to keep attacking and chase down single targets.It's not classic dw3, but that's staying on.

I found out that you can cancel almost any attack through blocking (even musou)This helps a lot with negating recovery frames on attacks, also lets you keep up pressure on generals a lot easier. Of course you could just dodge spam after everything but I'm talking about trad chads here.

Only played 3 stages as Sun Shang Xiang, so not a complete judgement yet. But generally: Game is good. It's not exactly Dynasty warriors 3, outside the level design obviously. Combat is much faster and smoother, with both you and enemies dealing a lot of damage. Mobs especially go down pretty quick but can absolutetly tear through your health. Most of the QoL features are nice, but do feel like they affect the difficulty a bit too much. Though, granted, very easy access to horses probably makes stages like Hefei castle less of a chore. You can turn most of them off, which does help. Though I imagine even classic still probably doesn't quite feel like DW3.

So I'm trying and Dynasty Warriors origin to not have Dian Wei Die on me I did do the successful campaign of his faction without the hypothetical stuff and I watched the YouTube video but I can't seem to get to the Castle's quick enough for him to not say the line that indicates he's going to die should I level grind some more and get all of the weapons level bonuses and all the skill point bonuses and just do the red or the green campaigns ( I do have the DLC but I want to do the normal and hypothetical campaigns first) or do I need to arrange things specifically so I can win it?

I did my first run with normal control settings, but with fixed camera and no 360 block. I feel like the perfect block and evade mechanics just make the game way more fun, even if it's less challenging. Can you at least guard cancel your charge moves with classic settings?
